Barone appeared in the fourth-season Seinfeld Episode The Shoes as Gail Cunningham Chef who wanted Elaine Benes shoes. In the early 1990s, Barone appeared as a regular in the show Carol & Company alongside Carol Burnett. Barone had also played Carol Willick Ross Geller's husband in Friends the first time she appeared. Jane Sibbett replaced her after she left to take on a full-time position.
